This switch has a so-called cross function, which means that it should only be used if more than two switches are to control the same light source from different locations in a room, staircase or corridor. The cross-function switch is then mounted between two staircase switches. <\/p>\n
If an ordinary switch is required to turn a light source on and off, or if two switches are connected to the same light source, a step switch should be selected instead.<\/p>\n
In the side of the base there is an opening for cable exit for surface-mounted electrical wiring, but it can also be mounted for recessed wall box in combination with any of Fontini’s base plates.<\/p>\n
For surface mounting on wood paneling or other flammable material, an insulating plastic base plate should be used as additional fire protection.<\/p>\n
