Opal glass is usually white glass, which used to be called milk glass. It diffuses light effectively and evenly. The surface of our glass is glossy, but opal glass can also be satin or matt. In art, opal glass has ancient origins but began to be produced in Venice in the 15th century.

Tough, straight and just itself is a good description of this functional lamp that actually existed with small variations throughout Europe. Our particular model comes from Västmanland. Proof that simple need not be simple. The well-crafted details, the genuine materials and the super-safe design make this lamp a future Gysinge classic.

Copper outdoor lamp in traditional lantern form. The metal is untreated and therefore darkens over time. Glazed with hand-blown glass, about 3 mm thick. Unglazed bottom makes it easy to change the bulb. The back is also made of copper sheet.

Tips! If you wish, you can paint the inside of the back cover white or polish it for better reflection. A mirrored glass can also be fitted to the back for those who wish.
